Jeff Wingfield is a lifelong resident in the City of Orange, where he graduated from Orange High School in 1982. He is a current member of the City of Orange Board of Education and is accredited by the State of New Jersey Department of Education. As a Board member, he oversees an $86 million-dollar annual operating budget. He is also responsible for overseeing the education, discipline, and safety of over 5,500 students enrolled in the District's 13 schools. Wingfield also serves on the City's Rent Leveling Board, ensuring that residents have quality housing and compliance with regulations.
Jeff earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Arts Administration from Montclair State University. He has been certified by the Department of Education as a Master Board Member. Jeff has completed courses in financial management, law, and criminal justice. He has over fifteen years of experience in corporate management. As a managing Theater Director, Jeff uses his budgetary expertise to manage 1 million dollars in annual revenue and 3 million dollars in grant funds from public and private entities. His management skills enable him to manage a personnel roster of 21 employees.
Wingfield has used his experience in the public arts sector to develop community outreach programs for seniors and economically disadvantaged persons. Jeff is also responsible for developing marketing strategies and maintaining, identifying, and expanding private and public funding for non-profit arts organizations.
Wingfield and his family have served the City of Orange for over 80 years. Jeff's late father served as a Maintenance Engineer at the Orange Housing Authority for more than 30 years. Jeff has continued that legacy of service as a Reservist in the United States Army. As a college student, Jeff supervised, and trained youth employed throughout Orange in a summer job training program.
Jeff invested his life savings in an abandoned house in the Valley and made it his family home. He is a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Orange, the NAACP, the Orange Valley Neighborhood Association, Nassau Street Block Watch, Orange Public Library Arts Advisory Committee.
